Christchurch New Zealand

We flew into Christchurch as we had a wedding to attend in Timaru which is two hours drive south , so had a day to have a look around. We did go into the Botanic Gardens, some photos of this later, but did not go for a look at the center as I felt this was too sad . A couple of days after we left, the centre of town was actually reopened for people to take bus trips through as a way for the locals to help with their grieving process.

We drove to a a beach nearby, Brighton Beach and afterwards along a beautiful part of the coast which as it turned out was near Lyttleton, where alot of the devastation from the earthquake occurred, so ended up seeing some of the destruction afterall.
