Mothers' Day Outing!!

Well, I have just arrived home from Townsville where I had a wonderful Mothers' Day lunch with Michael as well as C, D and K. (as they wish to be known on this site!!!) C booked a table at Bistro 51 which was inside and lovely and cosy as today was a cooler and rainy day.

It was great to have D with us as he had travelled down from Cairns for the weekend...to take K out "on the town" for his 18th birthday and of course, because it was Mothers' Day today.

My photos show me with my wonderful three kids, the second is a photo of my new warm comfy slippers and two of the four lovely new coffee cups I received from C and K. D's pressie is in the mail as he didn't know he would be seeing me today! Tiffany looked so elegant perched on the chair, that I had to include her in the photo. AND in the photo is a plate of Melting Moments I cooked yesterday to take in for Mothers' Day today BUT forgot and left them behind. Probably a good thing because they taste horrible actually. The third photo is my delicious meal of mushroom and spinach risotto. Yum!!

Well I think that I am the luckiest Mum in the whole wide world!!

Thanks for a beaut Mothers' Day!!

Happy Mothers' Day to Me!!

These beautiful flowers arrived for me today, a special surprise for Mothers' Day!! The purple ones are Irises and the green ones are actually Chrysanthemums. The Irises will look great when all of the buds have developed. I thought the greenery was quite cleverly arranged.

Happy 18th Birthday, Kieran

Michael, Catherine and I took Kieran to Michel's at South Townsville for his 18th Birthday on the 4 May! The food was great and something special for Kieran's birthday. Kieran had softshell crabs for entree and of course, steak for his main. His dessert of strawberry crepes came complete with sparkler and Happy 18 Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. No, we weren't all into the wine! The waiter just hadn't taken the glasses away! Well, OK, you know me better than that, Catherine and I did have a wine!!

After dinner Kieran refused to carry his balloons so Catherine did and as we were walking along a man came up yelling out, "Girl with the balloons, WAIT!" I was thinking, "What's this fellow up to?" Michael was about to whack him! hahaha Anyway, the man gave Catherine $20 because he had remembered when he was 18 a stranger had given him $20!! He looked about 50!! Well, you should have seen the look on Kieran's face!! But, there was no way Catherine was going to give him the $20 because as she said HE DIDN'T CARRY HIS BALLOONS! Big mistake, Kieran!! (Now, Catherine has to do this for someone else.)

Panorma from Balcony

This was the outlook from the balcony of the unit we stayed in on the Cairns Esplanade. The boats returning from the reef can be seen in the distance.
